Tintagel Old Post Office
A 600 year old traditional Cornish longhouse, owned by the National Trust. It is set in cottage gardens and contains a restored Victorian post office. Furnished with local oak furniture, some pieces dating from as early as the 16th century.
It began life as a yeoman farmhouse and is a rare survival of a mediaeval domestic building. The house became a Royal Mail letter receiving office in the 1870s. Towards the end of the 19th century, it was purchased by a group of local artists who were concerned with the preservation of their local area.
