Japanese Centipede Bite
I rather stupidly stuffed a pine cone into my pocket (for seeds) while walking in Nara park.
When my foot ballooned, I guessed something contained in the cone had come out and bitten me.
The swelling was really hot and painful so our translator took me to a pharmacy. He told me I was lucky, as some of these are fatal. Paracetamol and Hydrocortisone cream dulled the pain but I still worried that the swelling may make me miss my flight home!
