Shinkansen

If, like me, you haven't heard any detail about the Bullet train other than "they are fast", read on. From personal experience, they arrive exactly on time and your reserved seat matches the number on the platform. There are several different models with very distinctive looks. They are clean and luxurious like the inside of an airplane and drinks are served by cheery attendants. The speed is fairly astonishing but smooth and rattle free. About the only bad thing is that taking a photo from one is nigh on impossible.
