Rajin-Khasan railway, Sonbong
The reconstructed rail link between Rajin port and the Russia-DPRK border at Khasan which comprises 54 km of dual-gauge track was opened in 2013. It was used by the Russian side to transport Siberian coal to Rajin port from where it was shipped to South Korea. This project was cancelled by the South Korean side in March 2016 in order to punish North Korea for its nuclear test.
