G-OOOX 1 Boeing 757-2Y0 Air 2000 MAN 15FEB03
Replacing an earlier scanned photo with a better version, plus Topaz DeNoise AI 19-Jan-24. The neg was very 'yellowed' and I haven't been able to remove it all.
Air 2000 new livery (2003), red titles.
Another long history... This aircraft was delivered to Guinness Peat Aviation (later became part of GECAS) and leased to Air 2000 as G-OOOX in Feb-93. It was wet-leased to Dinar Lineas Aereas (Argentina) between Dec-94 / Mar-95.
It was wet-leased to 'Round-the-World' tour operators TCS Expeditions between Nov-98 / Jan-99. To Zegrahm Expeditions between Nov / Dec-99, and to TCS Expeditions again between Dec-99 / Feb-00.
In Dec-00 it was leased to Dinar Lineas Aereas again, returning to Air 2000 in Apr-01. As part of the First Choice Travel Group, Air 2000 was renamed First Choice Airlines in May-04.
In May-08 the First Choice Travel Group was merged into TUI UK/Thomson although First Choice Airlines didn't become part of Thomson Airways until Nov-08. In Dec-08 the aircraft was leased to Skyservice Airlines (Canada) as C-FLOX.
It was due to return to Thomson Airways (as G-OOOX) in Apr-09, however it was wet-leased by Skyservice to Arkefly (TUI Airlines Netherlands) between Apr / Oct-09 and returned to Skyservice for the winter season.
Skyservice Airlines ceased operations at the end of Mar-10 and the aircraft was returned early to Thomson Airways, still as C-FLOX. It became G-OOOX again the following month.
The aircraft was returned to the lessor in Dec-12 and was sold to FedEx/Federal Express as N974FD the same day. It was stored at Victorville, CA, USA prior to conversion to a freighter with a main deck cargo door in Jul-13.
After 30.5 years in service the aircraft was permanently retired at Victorville, CA, USA at the end of Sep-23. Updated 19-Jan-24.
