This aircraft was delivered to QANTAS Airways as VH-EBE in Aug-72. It was sold to the Boeing Aircraft Holding Company in Jun-85 and leased back to QANTAS. The aircraft was returned to Boeing in Jan-86 as N609PE.

 

It was sold to the CIS Corporation and leased to PEOPLExpress in Mar-86. PEOPLExpress was merged into Continental Airlines in Feb-87 and the aircraft was re-registered N10024 in May-91. It was returned to the lessor in May-93 and stored at Kingman, AZ, USA.

 

In Jul-94 the aircraft was leased to Tower Air and re-registered N614FF in Oct-94. It returned to the lessor in Nov-96 and was stored until it was leased to Continental Airlines again and sub-leased to Continental Micronesia in Feb-97. It was re-registered N14024 in May-97.

 

The aircraft was returned to Continental Airlines in Mar-99 and stored at Mojave, CA, USA. It was sold to Continental Airlines Purchasing Services LP in Nov-01 and permanently retired. It was last noted still stored at Mojave in Nov-07.

 

In early 2008 the aircraft was 'blown up' at Mojave by a controlled dynamite detonation for a Discovery Channel TV show about 'Bomb Proof Planes'. Updated 18-Sep-22.
