As the sunset finishes it's transition to complete dark, more recent and Moslem immigrants to the Maumere area sell fish in the street market.
The local people are the Sikka. They live on Flores, an island in eastern Indonesia with a Roman Catholic and Spanish colonial history. The Sikka people number over 180,000 people, most are Roman Catholic. Even with a heritage of faith in one called Jesus Christ, most rely on the sacraments of baptism and the eucharist for salvation rather than a simple faith and repentance.
