This was shot in the first abandoned house I have ever been too. I probably would have chickened out if it hadn't been for David, Whitney, Farhad, and Cynthia - thanks guys! For the first ten minutes or so I was really creeped out. It was such a strange feeling being in a home without it feeling like one (also lots of episodes of Ghost Adventures came to mind which didn't help).

 

This image really came together in post processing. I knew I wanted to have the feathers floating somewhere in the image but then when I thought of the possibilities of the window, everything changed. What was once something creepy turned into something beautiful and sorrowful.

 

A big thank you to Whitney for modeling shoeless and Cynthia for through feathers for me.

 

PS: While we were shooting in this house a bird kept flying in and out of this window. I think it was startled to have guests in its home.
