One upside of expecting international house guests is clearly that you are pressured into finishing little things around the flat that still haven't been fixed because you feel the need to present everything in the best possible shape it could be in. For me that meant finally painting the ragged edges on the ceiling of my hall (check!) and forcing my dad to come and help me put up some more mouldings in my living room (check!).
Included in the service was his far superior glue ("this is much better!") and the information that I still stick out my tongue when I concentrate hard on doing something. Great!
The only one who benefits from this is clearly DF who now has to take me out to dinner instead of helping with the mouldings again.
To ease his pain about missing out on that and in an effort to avoid going out into the extremely miserable Hamburg weather I cooked enough Chilli on Sunday night to feed 10 people. I'm blaming my misjudgement of portion sizes on the delicious red wine I "needed to help me cook".
