Icy Evening at Windy Arm

Must view large- click on it:)

This is a view of the Windy Arm of Tagish Lake from the old town-site of Conrad, looking south towards British Columbia. Mount Racine on the right, is on the 60th parallel that marks the border. Skagway, Alaska is about 40 miles further south on the Skagway Road. The snow arrived late this year, and the wave action on the lakes created some really cool ice designs on the rocks that would normally be blanketed with snow. In evening twilight, the ice almost glows when back-lit. The alpenglow on the mountain to the left was a nice find too. The temperature was about minus 13, perfect fall weather and a beautiful calm evening on the Windy Arm.
