the end of June

This is a little plant growing in the join of two large trunks of a large tree in my back yard. I've been keeping an eye on this for the last year or so - wondering if it would grow significantly, or cause damage to the tree (it's got completely different leaves to the large tree). So far there doesn't appear to be much (if any) change. Looks like happy symbiosis to me.

 

Freezing cold and heavy rain today. I'm going to stay warm by the fire.
