Keith Marshall says: This book maps all the counties of England, published in 1804. You can see more here: www.flickr.com/photos/britishlibrary/tags/sysnum001500631/ - but the artist doesn't often put North at the top, for whatever reason, so they're unlike anything you would see today! I love how this one seems to show Scotland and Ireland physically connected :)

Keith Marshall says: A political hot potato - this one clearly shows Greece and the Balkans, with the title of "Turkey in Europe". Published in 1802, this land would then have been part of the decaying Ottoman Empire.
