This panel "represents Main Street (one of the principal throughfares) from the North and South. This avenue is 165 feet wide, extending in a straight line nearly a mile. The stone bridge in the small central circle, is said to be the finest single arch structure in New England. The portal of stone and iron on the right of the page spans the entrance to the extensive park which was recently presented to the city by George A. Wheelock, Esq."
