DESCRIPTION

Aerial photograph of Keene New Hampshire. Photo was taken after 1940 as Abbot's Grocery Co. on Railroad Square was removed by 1940. It was taken before 1960, as the Grain Co. on Railroad Square was removed by 1960 and it is still in this picture.

"Keene, often called the "Heart of New England" because of its central geographical position, is 483 feet above sea level and built on a broad plain. Nearly all its streets are level but hills that surround it vary in height from 800 to 1500 feet."
