A Resilient Spirit

Residents of the historic French Quarter in New Orleans, La., displayed a resilient holiday spirit despite inescapable reminders of Hurricane Katrina and her flood waters a full three years before. 11 Dec. 2008.

This is my winter song to you.

The storm is coming soon.

It rolls in from the sea.

I still believe in summer days.

The seasons always change,

and life will find a way.

I'll be your harvester of light

and send it out tonight,

so we can start again.
