Au Coeur de Paris
Su construcción comenzó en 1163 y finalizó en 1245, representándo actualmente uno de los iconos más representativos de la capital francesa.
Esta joya del estilo gótico está situada en la Île de la Cité, lugar de los primeros asentamientos celtas y, por tanto, cuna de la ciudad.
De ella han surgido múltiples leyendas aunque quizá la más conocida se deba a Victor Hugo, que gracias a su "Romance de Nuestra Señora" (1831), nos obliga a todos a mirar a sus altas torres en busca del jorobado Quasimodo.
En su interior destaca el espectacular órgano, máximo honor al que puede aspirar un organista con aspiraciones. También resultará imposible no maravillarse, si acompaña un día soleado, con los espectaculares juegos de colores que surgen de los inmensos rosetones, otros de los tesoros de la catedral.
Ya en las torres (69 m. y 387 escalones después), en una visita que recomiendo encarecidamente, se puede hablar de tú a tú a las famosas quimeras, aunque a mi no me hicieron caso alguno, no separando su vigilante vista del horizonte parisino. Y en el interior de la torre sur podremos visitar la famosa campana Emmanuel (13 toneladas...), ordenada fundir por Luis XIV.

This jewel of the Gothic style is situated on the “Ile de la Cité”, site of the first Celtic settlements and, therefore, the birthplace of the city.
There are many legends around this cathedral but perhaps the best known is due to Victor Hugo, thanks to his "Romance of Our Lady" (1831), compels us all to look at their high towers in search of the hunchback Quasimodo.
Its interior boasts a spectacular organ, the highest honor that can aspire aspiring organist. Also be impossible not to marvel, if enjoys a sunny day, with the spectacular set of colors that emerge from the huge roses, another of the treasures of the cathedral.
Already in the towers (69 meters and 387 steps later), in a high recommended visit, you can talk face to face with the famous chimeras (although they ignored me) not separating his watchful eye on the Paris skyline.
