Great Plains Technology Center
👮♂️Instructor Spotlight! Charlie Martin, Criminal Justice🚓
Before joining Great Plains Technology Center, Charlie Martin dedicated over 24 years to the Lawton Police Department, serving in nearly every role you can imagine; patrol officer, K-9 handler, detective, crime scene investigator, supervisor, honor guard member, and even polygraph examiner. His decades of experience bring unmatched insight and credibility to the classroom.
Charlie turned to education after an on-duty injury led to his retirement from the force. Now, he equips the next generation of justice professionals with both knowledge and perspective.
Armed with a Bachelor’s and Associate degree in Criminal Justice, advanced CLEET certifications, and countless specialized trainings, Charlie offers students a real-world view of the field. One of the biggest surprises for his students? Learning just how different the work really is compared to what they see on TV.
Hands-on projects, especially crime scene investigations, are where his teaching comes alive. He describes his style in three words: supportive, adaptable, consistent. And he lives by this guiding principle: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
