trying to move the worksite closer to home (& the moving-away of several key workers) in Ottawa resulted in another lag before finally trying to move in on the north shore bay of Merrill Island (a warm water underlayer with significant gassing seems to keep the ice covering the stiller "neck bay" off the east shore in a less stable state). consistent access was not available & that attempt died as it began.
tried again the following year & got a pile with a hole big enough to crawl into but again, consistent access over as long a period as possible just didn't work out.
