after the failure of Merrill Island, a shrug o'the shoulders about being visible & the site was relocated off the east shore of Île Ecuiel, which ice channel can be easily walked across (usually).
a first chamber to fit 4 comfortably was built & a 2nd chamber begun when the melt occurred.
