heliochronographijetty

by jwc 3o2

a rebuild of the previous jetty that was destroyed by storms & spring freshets. the surface has been raised a coupla feet & the crib reärranged to withstand being bumped into by ice floes (i hope). material: entirely built with about 3o tons of stone, from extremely large blocks levered off the cliffface down to various grades of handgathered gravel fill, all from around the various outcroppings that make up the Lemieux Island group, with thanks to Tobin Grimshaw for many of the north side flagstones.
it is currently being turned into a form of approximate sundial.
