Daniel Jones was a Toronto writer who suicided on Valentine's Day, 1994. the next day, Letters Bookstore proprietor Nicky Drumbolis issued a broadside of Jones's poem Things That I Have Put Into My Asshole & plastered the streets with it overnight in the areas Jones had been known to occupy. the memorial was repeated for 4 years running, D.M.Owen cutting 2 stencils (simultaneously) of the poem for 1995's paintblitz. this is a selection from the 17 sites i shot. Owen also issued a broadside edition painted red on printed newsprint, 23 #d copies from Martin Garth Press, Toronto, april 1995. one of the sites (buffed from the now-defunct kitsch shop Popular Culture), as photographed (& retouched) by Steve Lungley, appeared on the cover of EYE WEEKLY vol.5 #18 when they ran a memorial article on Jones.
Letters reprinted the poem as a small broadsheet on the 15th anniversary, february 2oo9.
