a sharp thwack sends the ball through the tube to take air over a pit to the contained "green". the "cup" is a divot on one side of the interior of the rotted-out hydro pole cut & left laying.
i'd wanted to aim it toward the hollow inside the portion of the pole left standing but too many holes & crevices in the rock fill would lead to a lot of lost balls (certainly fixable) but the question of how to get into the pole if one missed suggested this (possibly only temporary) alternative.
a hole-in-one is highly unlikely (some barrier angle adjustments will be made to make it more possible) but birdies can occur
