day 17.
this occurred about 15 minutes before i arrived, 2 kids wandering around heedless of the dangers of how river ice works. apparently, one of'em had one leg go in up to his hip (it's deep right there) but his other leg crumpled & his knee caught the ice & he could haul himself out with some help from his friend.
