Edward Gorey's The Broken Spoke" (Dodd, Mead, 1976), a collection of titled bicycle-related drawings, ends with its sole untitled work depicting a naked mummy riding a bicycle, spokes laced with festively funereal purple cloth. it is daylight, into which the "headlight" on the bicycle casts forth a cone of darkness.
