OTTAWA CITY RAFTING

this got lost on my table. it's from the beginning of august, 2o17. a neighbour had handed on her obsolete lawn furniture – 2 benches & a chair – for whatever use i might be able to make of it, even if only for firewood. a friend drove it all down to the River Street boatlaunch for me & i brought the canoe & ferried over one of the benches (which i'd disassembled) & the chair to Lumpy Island. when i returned, i moved the remaining bench way off to the side of the boatlaunch at the river's edge for folks to sit on & still be outta the way when the recreational rafts came in (which they do twice a day in groups of from 2 - 4).

when i returned the next day, this note had been taped to the back of the bench. the bench itself had been moved from where i'd tucked it to the other side of the boatlaunch, where it 'd been placed so as to block the pathway (that certainly gets more daily use than the launch).

good call, folks!

also worth noting is this flyer's shamelessly false scenic lure: anyone in receipt of it who hopes to get to experience that particular view of the Parliament buildings will be sadly disappointed to find it merely a montage on the flyer.
