crack (for Brian Dedora)
in 198o, Brian published a visual poem in an anthology called Five on Fiche (Underwhich Editions). it's composed of a vertical crack in a basically black page through which bits of letters are visible. in 199o, i parodied crack (as "Bob Botany", the name itself a parody of "Alan Alchemy" & David Botta) on the cover of a parody of David UU called Unititled (as by "W.Davidora", Room 3o2 Books), which prose borrowed heavily from both David & Brian's styles of delivery.
though Brian is known primarily for his writing, he's also a master framer, visual artist & sometime photographer. this conflates a few of those influences & references a set of assemblages he made in 1985 for L'Affaire Pataphysique in Toronto.
