Pierre
the day before this, i happened to go down to the railbridge to finish photographing the Haunters that reside there. when i finished & rode across the bridge, i saw the raft just floating downriver – fortunately, not too far from shore. i whizzed over on my bike & had a hell of a time getting to it but managed to snag the towrope with a long stick, reel it in close enough to leap across to it, then pole & pull myself upriver a bit to where i could pull it up onshore. came back next day with a paddle to bring it back to the bay & spent quite a few hours out on the water, running into Pierre several times in the course of my afternoon/early evening. the raft hadn't been stashed 1o minutes before he came along with the paddle someone else brought down.
so c'mon folks: this thing's getting a lot of use by a lot of people (it's almost always somewhere other than where i'd left it). instead of spoiling the fun for everyone by not hiding it or at least tying off properly (or being an asshole & pushing it out to just watch it float away to oblivion), how about we all make sure the fun continues by being somewhat responsible about how we leave it.
[Pierre tells me that he heard a report from a friend that raft 4 is in fact still extant upriver: anyone in for an investigative adventure to maybe bring it back?]
