it's comin'...

there was just a small crescent of ice tucked away in a corner when i set out today but, a few hours later, when i came back there was a crinkly skin of ice over generous portions of the bay – first of the season i think – thick enough to stop the raft (but still breakable; went through part of it just to see then just went around it the rest o'the way).
