SD Rail Yard
Looking away from downtown on the Harbor Drive bridge sits a rail yard, and along the bay are a row of shipping ports. This shipping Mecca sits less than 50 yards from Petco Park, right in the heart of downtown San Diego. They have been doing construction to install the additional gates required to allow the downtown San Diego rail crossings to become horn-free crossings. When the freight trains come rolling through, they have some blaring horns, I can't wait til the project gets completed. I haven't heard much about the progress lately, hopefully the funding wasn't lost with some of the other programs that have been eliminated for State and local budget savings.
