Buachaille Etive Mòr

I'd seen an image some time ago of this phenomenon but never thought for a minute that I would experience it. The day started with an hour and a half drive to the Glen for sunrise.

Etive Mòr was my planned starting point but as first light appeared, it was very difficult to stop myself from becoming distracted by the beautiful colours to the east. At one point I even stopped and got out of the car as I doubted my planned destination. Then realising I might just be in with a shot of capturing something a bit special, my journey resumed.

With minutes to spare I arrived to this stunning spectacle. -10°c made this the coldest day in Glen Coe for me. It didn't matter one bit though, even when I later got my wellies full of that water! But that's another story.
