I wish i had my 105mm lens on...

i suppose i could have just walked forward a few metres... Oh well!

On a 6x7 camera a 105mm lens is actually the same approximate field of view as a 50mm lens on a 35mm camera. So this picture... taken with a 45mm lens is actually about 22mm (in 35mm format).

However most digital SLR's have an APS-C sized sensor, which is smaller than a 35mm frame. More mathematics is required to work out the field of view of a lens in relation to the 35mm format. If the lens on your D-SLR (such as a Nikon D200) is an 18mm, the actual field of view in relation to 35mm is 27mm (you have to multiply the focal length by 1.5).
