Take a look at it View On Black

When I was in Ecuador, I just had to visit the amazon area. I have been drawn towards it ever since I was a little child. And this is how I felt as well, excited and nervous like a small girl before christmas.

We had two fabulous local guides, Victor and Wilmer, who knew the names of every plant, every single animal and even the smallest insects.

Trees were growing out of the water, only the crowns could be seen in which anacondas liked to laze around. Small monkeys came down the trees and sat on the branches the closest to the water, either curios or furious about our presence. Funny little beings! There were butterflies bigger than my hands and wild orchids, pink dolphins and a very charismatic shaman. It was a cliché wonder world...

While the rest of my group was totally exhausted after dinner, I couldn't calm myself down, staring at more stars that I knew that existed, and spotting the mysterious eyes of the caimans under the rustic bungalows.

So nearly every night, Wilmer and I would go back to the lake, to let the day settle. We sat there in our canoe, watched the sunset, and listened to the intense jungle sounds until the stars came out and leaded us our way back to the camp. He as well enjoyed the silence and we both never spoke a word.

I think this picture reflects not only the last rays of the sun but as well the peaceful state we were in.
