Swap Stitchery!
I was so excited to make something for Christy in a recent swap. I knew immediately that it had to be something involving a Badass Lady, as Christy both is one and admires them. I remembered she was a fan of the show "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," which starred Summer Glau as a badass lady terminator sent from the future to protect John Connor (OR WAS SHE???).
I downloaded a photo of Glau-as-terminator, traced it onto some Robert Kaufman Quilter's Linen at the light table at school, and stitched her up using kettle-dyed blue thread. Mr. Frick's contribution was the idea of one red eye, which I think really makes it. One of her big lines is "come with me if you want to live," so I stitched that next to her. I framed her in the hoop using a circle of felt for stability and backing her with a sweet, but dark, Anna Maria Horner floral.
Yay!
