Crowded...

This Northern Gannet is attempting to land. They just hover for a second, then let themselves drop where they want to go. Fun to watch.

 

I selected this shot from the many that I took on Bonaventure Island just to show how crowded the nesting areas are. There were 55,000 nesting pairs plus their young. That's 165,000 birds. It was difficult to get a shot of a bird alone with a clean background :)

 

This was the second time visiting this area and I thought it would be the last... then again, there's always a better shot out there waiting to happen. Maybe I'll return in 2 years.
