Down at the watering hole...
Chinese Water Deer (Hydropotes inermis), female (doe). Rymes Reedbed, Holme Fen, Cambridgeshire. January 13, 2023.
This was shot from the Trundle Mere Lookout just before sunset, so the light wasn't great. The background soundtrack is provided by the wind, which has been relentless all week, plus the inevitable train passing on the East Coast Main Line. I recently invested in an external stereo microphone for my little Sony DSC-HX400V, which comes complete with a wind muffler and is a lot more sensitive than the camera's built-in microphone.
As for the fox, he was away hunting in the woods, so I didn't see him until I was walking back to the car.
