2010.09.05 American Artist Debbie GS and UK-based Spanish Artist Jose Zalabardo, who is known on flickr as Exilio Cosmico:
Pen/marker on paper/moleskine notebook.
Freehand from photos.
5.5 X 7 inches.
30 - 60 minutes.
Today's double portrait is of American Artist Debbie GS and UK-based Spanish Artist Jose Zalabardo, who is known on flickr as Exilio Cosmico.
Whether drawing people, places or things, Jose draws with a consistently inquistive line which quietly reveals all the important details. Debbie also draws and paints a wonderful variety of subjects - I love how she creates lively surfaces with well-defined volumes by building up soft layers of watercolor. I usually end up with a mess when I try this - I think it's that I'm not patient enough to let one layer dry before adding another.
