Red Hatters Ride the Sam Shortline
Twenty-one Red Hatters of the Wild Huckleberries of Valdosta and friends drove from Valdosta to Cordele, GA. There the group boarded the SAM Shortline train and traveled to Americus, GA. In Americus, the group enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Forsyth 1889 Bar & Grill, took a brief photo opportunity in the Windsor Hotel, and climbed back on the trolleys for a ride back to the train. Then the train traveled to Plains, GA--home of 39th President of the U.S., Jimmy Carter. Everyone aboard the train flooded the Peanut Patch for a taste of Peanut Butter Ice Cream. Many people again boarded the SAM Shortline for a slow ride back to Cordele with several groups disembarking at various stops. It was a good day with food, fun, fellowship, games, and prizes.
