Maroon Bells

This is iconic Colorado photography. Many of the trees were green when I visited, so I went for a vertical composition to focus on the best color. I also thought these foreground rocks were interesting too. They kind of mirror the two main peaks in this impressive range. Despite the fact that you are sometimes tripod to tripod with dozens of other photographers, an image like this helps me to drift back to that beautiful morning standing next to a mirror-calm lake of glass.
