Milini 150gsm sketchbook, A4; graphite pencil H, 40mins, 5x7.5" sketch using a 4x5" Albertian veil and measuring stick

Another in the current series focussing almost entirely on accurate measurement. The composition is based largely on the painting of Paul Signac, "Gasometers of Clichy" with its large, flat foreground.

Deliberaelystopping myself after 40mins, keeping to "flat" space and my tendency after that to resort to tone. When interesting shadows pop up opportunistically, I can't resist recording them.

A very unusual, wedge-shaped shopfront on the corner of Princes Hwy and Holbeach Road, with water tower in the background. Last operated as a shop (fish-and-chips) some fifteen or so years ago.
