Fovea
As we were listening to a soundscape performance of synthesized music at the Hammer Museum, I kept my eye on this spot lit area on the other side of the room. I was hoping to capture a moment when I could see people in an interesting pose with their shadow behind them. It was a lot harder than I thought. Because the museum was crowded that night, most of the time indistinguishable clusters of people moved through the scene. I succeeded with a few shots, with the effort helping me appreciate Cartier-Bresson’s notion of the “decisive moment,” when all the elements of a scene magically align to form an interesting composition.
