Lucid Dreaming
A dream is said to be “lucid” when a person realizes that what is happening is actually a dream, that he or she is asleep and the events occurring are just in one’s mind. Some people often have lucid dreams and are able to influence their course. When they wish for something to happen, it does. Other people rarely report lucid dreams, or quickly wake up when they realize they are in one. Many lucid dreamers report a sense of wonder, exhilaration, and freedom during the experience.
