5218 Haworth Moor

Bronte Country, Yorkshire. You can just see the site of Top Withens near the horizon (see note). Top Withens has been linked to the classic novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte (1847). It is not the building itself, but its situation on the moors which is thought to have inspired the author. The ruins (just visible next to the tree) are much visited although remote, and have recently been restored. The Brontes must have walked these moors a lot and known them well.
