Nearing the end of a chilly but clear week, there was a film of ice on the bay in the mornings!
Since it's the ocean you need the right conditions for ice, and Porpoise Bay is perfect. Very calm waters and lots of fresh water coming from creeks and rivers, which forms a thin layer of freshwater that freezes on top of the salt chuck!
