Grizzly and cubs at Steamboat Springs

This mother grizzly and her cubs were my first wild grizzlies that did not resemble dots on a hillside in Yellowstone. We had heard that they were hanging around Steamboat Springs on the Lake, but certainly did not expect to find them actually RIGHT NEXT TO the sign! They were really just 50 feet from there. They slowly grazed up a hillside, over the top, and of all things, almost meandered straight into a coyote. This is actually what they are staring so intently at. Poor little coyote just hunkered his shoulders down and crept out of there as fast as he could! The magic of Yellowstone.
