Perhaps this is column 58 in the Albuquerque AT&SF Rail Sheds. Albuquerque's original economic engine once employed nearly one-quarter of the City's workforce. Built throughout the late 1800's and early 1900's, the Albuquerque Rail Yards put the City on the map, and catalyzed the City's transformation from a farming village to a booming valley of innovation.
The shops continued to operate as maintenance-of-way equipment repair shops into the 1980s. Today, the Rail Yard’s flagship event is The Rail Yards Market, a non-profit run growers' market. The Rail Yards Market of Albuquerque operates on Sundays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. during the months of May-October.
