Traffic calming with aggressive speed bumps 1

Despite a 20 mph posted speed limit, this narrow residential street had ongoing issues with fast cut-through traffic. The City responded with parking-lot-style speed bumps -- much more aggressive than a speed hump engineered for a 20mph design speed. Neighborhood response has been very positive, though the City Council has expressed concern about liability for the nonstandard bumps and noncompliant markings.
