Migrating Monarch

While fishing every day of the Martha's Vineyard Derby in 2006, I caught a glimpse of the Monarch Butterfly migration. During a few days, the beaches of Chappaquiddick were aflutter with these beautiful butterflies. I stopped my car and captured a shot of this one resting on on some flowers. Apparently these butterflies migrate up to three thousand miles to the the Neovolcanic Mountains in Mexico.
