Don't laugh. This setup gives great results.
Strobist info: Taken with a hot-shoe mounted Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2 controlling a floor level Canon Speedlite 580 EX II set at 70mm (angled towards the Rebel XT) and a hand held Canon Speedlite 580 EX set at 24mm (aimed above the left monolight. The flashes built-in wide angle adapters were not used. The ST-E2 was not set on Flash Ratio. Therefore, fully automatic ETTL-2 was used.
Note: Out of view on the floor was a Broncolor FCM flash meter. Both the Minolta and Broncolor flash meter measurements were virtually identical.
