Sympathy
On Tuesday, we lost our Nephew to a heroin overdose 3 days after his 22nd birthday. He was a wonderful boy who took a turn down a dark road and couldn't find his way back. The loss those he left behind are feeling is indescribable. From his first step down that road, he was unable to shake the pull of addiction.
The more I learn about opiods, their prevalence and how incredibly strong the addiction is from the first time they enter your system, the more sickened I am by this epidemic.
Please, if you have children hug them, tell them you love them and teach them the realities of this horrible drug.
If you're experimenting, DON'T, there is no coming back from your first opiod experience.
If you're fighting the addiction, remember everyday you can make a conscious choice to keep going in the right direction. There are people that care, people that can help. Don't leave them behind grief stricken.
