Moonrise 26 July 2010 | Adler Planetarium
Ten 1/320-sec exposures @ ISO 2000 | Nikon D700 + 24-70mm f/2.8G | Chicago, IL

NB: Notice that (1) the Moon does NOT appear bigger in the photo when closer to the horizon. That is an optical illusion taking place in the brain. As the Moon rises and its light travels through a shorter path in the atmosphere (2) the Moon becomes brighter, (3) less deformed, and (4) less red.
